WARNING!!!! BE WARNED, I MAY MENTION SO CALLED SPOILERS AT ANY TIME IN THIS THREAD! THIS IS THE ONLY WARNING YOU WILL GET, SO IF THAT BOTHERS YOU, BE CAREFUL!!!

So, what do you all think about it? Me, i'm interested, having owned a few FF games myself and loving how it takes time and some brain power believe it or not.

I'm not so sure about Yuna being some pop star and such, and the way they do it, with people flying around on protable stages and stuff around her, seems a little, corny, but i'm interested in the story line to say the least.

LOL, I agree. And I haven't found much of a use for the songstress dresssphere...maybe i just haven't used it enough. I do like how it reverts back to the original battle system, though.

I love FFX-2...im about 80% done...the downsides about it (imo) are its too easy, I don't like the unlinear storyline, and it needs more FMVS (lol, not really; but their friggin awesome :0~)

This game looks pretty cool, I'll probably buy it eventually, but you should all really wait for International to come out, it's the upgrade of X-2, but anyway, yeah it looks pretty cool, my friend already beat it like 8 hours into the game, lol she was mad that it was that easy, but I found it humerous.

Inono that's what Wynter said, I think she said it was really good though. But it's like her to clear an RPG that fast. So maybe to a not so skilled RPG-er (me, and possibily you) it will be more difficult. I rarely play video-games.

FFX-2 is pretty easy if just stick to the main story line, but if you go off on side quests (things that aren't hotspots, for you guys who have played) it gets pretty tough. I know I was looking for somewhere to level up my characters and ended up going through a 40+ level maze under bevelle. I quit after level 40 and continued on but it went deeper. Plus there are optional bosses that you can skip that have ungodly amounts of hit points. I'm talking 300,000 - 500,000 hit points and can kill you in one hit. FUN!! WTF? So yeah the game can be easy but it can also be a major pain in the butt and very frustrating if you let it be.

P.S. I love frustrating games! Very Happy More fun to figure out things, than the game just handing them to you

I see, well i can handle that. I like hard games, just as long as they are ridiculously hard. then it's just plain stupid.

And i'm pretty descent with the RPG's to say the least Spike, i'm just a perfectionists, that's all, lol. Thanks for the info.

I really love this game. Not only does it give me an excellent source for drawing (see my dress sphere drawings in the nifty gallery) but I've spent TWENTY hours in the first chapter alone, just doing everything I could manage to do. This game, although I've heard of people beating it in ungodly fast times, has a lot more than immediately meets the eye, and I'm determined to suck out of it every drop of fun that I can. :P

-.- ... zZz

But I keep sidetracking, especially now that I got Scan Lv. 3, and I can get a good close up of the girls in each of thier outfits, making it that much easier to pick out the details! It made drawing Paine's thief outfit (mostly) correct that much easier.

I should really move on in the game though and get started on Chapter Two. I've heard some things about the game that makes me need to see more. And I must say, the FMV of Yuna's dream at the end of chapter one was a really interesting teaser...

I was actually horribly disappointed with the game.

I sat down and beat it in one night armed only with my controller, my gigantic amounts of patience for the idiocy that the main characters were spewing ("Oh poopie" should never EVER be a phrase in an FF game..) and a large pot of coffee.

I don't know. A sequel, in itself, was strange for Final Fantasy. Although if Seven had one that'd be nice.

I kinda expected more, ya know? It was just.. it seemed like it was only churned out as fanservice, the characters were all flakey Charlie's Angels rips (What the hell is wrong with Yuna?), and it just didn't seem to stick to Final Fantasy ideals.

But. And I mean this; the game is saved by the battle system. God, I love the dress spheres. The system is faster, cleaner, and one of the best I've ever seen in an FF game. Sure, Yuna dances like Britney Spheres, and Paine fights with her back to her enemy, but the rest of it kicks severe @$$.

Disappinted by the game, but if you don't think of it as something from Final Fantasy, it's very very good.

But thats just what I think.

*laughs* I drew that one, had to show her straight on to avoid the uncomfortable-underwear look from behind....

Poor Poor Paine.

I wonder who they were trying to appeal more to with some of those outfits, the girls, like we were led to believe with the whole pop star cutesy thing, or the boys, with the cleavage enhanced outfits? They *did* make fun drawing subjects, though.

I should get back to finishing X2 once I get off my .hack infatuation.

i've tried it... pretty nice bg start. but the game isn't as good as ffx. the story line of ffx was better, and i miss the summons!! fun playing with the dress spheres though.. but ffx was more addictive

Final Fantasy X-2 is amazing on just principle alone.

Let's go back to Final Fantasy X when Yuna was a kimono-wearing yes-girl who would nod and smile dumbly at everything anyone having to do with Yevon said. Let's face it, she was a sheep. By the end of the game, she brought down her own religion because she realized that she believed in the people of Spira and their happiness more than she did in her religion. That's devotion, folks.

So then, Square and Enix merged.
This in and of itself was a huge deal. A "new" company trying new things. They thought, hey, let's break the mould and re-revolutionize our standards for RPG's. Like they did with Final Fantasy VII (everyone can tell you that Final Fantasy VII set the standards for modern PSOne RPGs ... everything was compared to it). They decided to make a sequel. Never done before. It was almost taboo.

So, what would happen to Yuna, if she continued on her self-empowerment? She would want to do whatever the hell she wanted to do. She saved the world from Sin (forever) and removed the most unhealthy religion to ever sweep Spira. She would continue to evolve and revolutionize herself. This culminates in Final Fantasy X-2, where we see Yuna as a sphere-hunter. No ties to any factions, just out to have fun, to enjoy herself for once. (hey, if I came that close to certain death and survived, I'd want to live like every moment like it was the last, too)

Yuna's being a pop-star is part of this. It's something Spira hasn't seen in over 1000 years, it's new, and it gives Yuna a chance to try the dress spheres. Also something new. This is all very exciting, everything is changing. Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Yuna is arguably the strongest character (in terms of her resolve). She is also probably the most famous in her own world (how many people in Midgar know that Cloud defeated the guy who summoned Meteor? Oh that's right, none! They're all dead, or at the very least, still in denial that Sephiroth was still alive after what Shinra propagated).

I think I've said enough. FFX-2 rocks beyond conception.

Yuna is not a pop star. So what if she sings one song in the game.
SPOLIER!!!!!

The first song was not sung by Yuna it was Leblanc faking as Yuna singing the song so that doesn't count! I think they could have done more with the story in this game but besides that I thought it was really fun, but maybe a little too corny at some parts. But all in all a good game to play ^_^
