What books have you read that stared off really good at first then got really sucky later on? For me, it was the Wheel of Time. I absolutley LOVE the first five books. The characters are so well discribed and their personalitys are wonderful. There are some that you cant help but love, and some that you want to beat over the head with a brick. *hem*Lanfear*hem* But then after that it just gets annoying. The girls bug the boys way too much. It's like the author either had a bad experiance with girls, is trying not to get girls mad, or is just trying too hard to make girls look bad. And then poor Matt,Perrin and Rand! He makes their lives so miserable.... I dunno, I just stopped reading after the 5th one.
How 'bout you? |

There's quite a list, but I can't seem to remember them all right now.
First, I would have to say the Daughters of The Monn---->OMFG, It took me forever to get into the books, and when I finally did....all hell broke loose. The books were just soo..idiotic. My understanding lavel is quite high, but these books lost me completely!! And at the end, it was all usueless because she just...ended the series. Oh and now the girls loose their powers cuz they are turning 17. I WAS SOO PISSED!! ok, sorry
The next series that I only got to a few chapters of book2: The wayfarer Redemption. Don't even let me go there. Lets just say that I wanted to burn the book and kill the author, then bring her back to life and kill her again... .If you really want to get pissed at a book, and want to see a good plot go out the window,
pick this one up at your local library a soon as posable!!!
I'm just glad Its over, sorry about that! |

Hahaha, I had to give up on the Wheel of Time too. I just stopped caring after a while - no series should go on for that long. I remember believing that since the library only had up to the 7th book, that it must be the last book in the series. And then I panicked because I had 200 pages left to go in it, and there was no way for Robert Jordan to finish everything off. And then nothing was resolved and I got really mad and never went near the series again. XD
Another series like that is the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I loved the first several books, but then they started getting worse and worse... I don't know - all of the books in the series that center around someone that isn't one of the two main characters are just awful. I hated every word of them. It took me a really long time to realize that if each new book was worse than the last, then perhaps I should stop reading the series. Because I'm smart like that. <_< |

Hmmm...there was this one that I can't remember the title of. It was one of those stories that you really like where the story is going, and then they make a character change completely and the entire FEEL of the book changed along with them. *sigh. _________________ Ah, so you've decided to read my signature. It would probibly be Moby Dick, I don't know why, but in the middle it just kinda died for me, it picks up at the end though.
however classics and I usually don't get along all that well.
