I'm really stupid when it comes to computers so can any one help me?

Is the PM e-mail thingy? WTF?

PM and e-mail are pretty similar, they're two ways to contact/talk with a member privately without letting other forum members know what's going on. See the row of icons down at the bottom of your post?

For some reason the e-mail button doesn't work (it generates a blank page instead of an e-mail form), but at least the PM's still do.

The process is essentially the same: you fill out a PM/email form (it looks a lot like the Reply screen) and hit Send to deliver the message. E-mails are delivered to their e-mail account (of course), whereas PM's will appear as a popup window the next time the person logs in to the forums.
