Okay, lets say that you just went to the doctor tommorow. Now lets assume that he finds a tumor in your brain that is not only the size of a cantelope but is also very cancerous. The doctor doesn't sugar-coat the situation and just tells you that this tumor will kill you in six months. There is no cure and your expiration date has now been set to six months from tommorow. That gives you six months to prepare for a funeral that people will never forget. You have your casket choosen, your will all written out, and you even have the flowers picked out. But what about the music? The song played at your funeral should be able to express your personality one last time before you fade into the dust and obituary.
So what would you have played at your funeral? _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I'd play music through the whole thing. 'Cause...well, a bunch of speeches are always depressing and full of sugar coated crap anyway, might as well cover some of it up with tunes.
The Last Song - Poison
Cheesiest funeral ever. That's the only sad song, though. The rest would be happy and more about me than the fact I'm dead.
On With The Show - Motley Crue
Wild Angels - Pretty Boy Floyd
All Of My Love - Led Zeppelin
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin (couldn't pick)
Could I make it even more lame by playing Stairway to Heaven? Why yes!
And then end by making everyone have 11 minutes of silence while Coma (Guns N' Roses) plays. Because no one will ever shut up long enough to really listen to it, so by god they'll do it when I'm dead. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Whatever that song is about snuffing roosters. That's when I pop out and surprise everyone that I'm not really dead. "No way he gonna die!!!" or whatever the lyrics are (don't correct me, just leave it be whenever I put some incorrect lyric or song title.....I'm illiterate when it comes to music, I just listen to it, don't care who it's by or what it's called or what it's about (sometimes anyway...) )
Anyway, seriously at my funeral? I demand emo music, first off. I'll make those little fuckers cry at my wedding no matter what it takes. Put on some Evanescence up in there, bitches! "My God! My tourniquet! Return to me salvaaaaaatioooon!"
That's about the only line I know, but whatever. Emo music to make them cry...check.
I also demand - Stephen Lynch. I will save up money and in my will it will be used to pay him off to come and sing "Lullabye" at my funeral. Then, he can sing whatever he wants.
I also want to be buried with a katana that has the blade set on fire (I don't care how they do it, just get it done bitches) Then, before it's done and I'll get buried, THAT'S when it goes out. That bitch better burn the whole funeral!!
Back to music...I want.......
Nothing Better by The Postal Service.
Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand
Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.
The Unforgiven by Metallica
Hey You by Pink Floyd
Lithium by Nirvana
Hells Bells by AC/DC
Another One Bites the Dust; Don't Stop Me Now; BR; I Want to Break Free all by Queen
Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra
Otherworld (I heard it was by Rammstein but I don't honestly know who made it...)
What the Hell Happened to Me by Adam Sandler
That's all I got for now, there's plenty more, though. |

People tell me Im to stubborn to die,but the music I think would be played would most likely be one of the songs an Evangleist (did i spell that right?) sung at our churh, well our old one. "He called my Name" daddy said he wants the song "Just a rose will Do" Hes been planning his death or getting ready for it for a while and hes not even sick. But Id pick "He called my Name" Thats a good song. I love it  |

"Here I go Again" - Whitesnake
"Please Don't Let It Go" - Him
"Run" - Snow Patrol
Incidently, my mum works at a church and has to organise funerals, and she's had some funny requests. Like "Always look on the Bright Side of Life". _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

You "hope" they'll play it? Say you'll haunt their asses till the grave if they don't. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

Let It Be- Beatles (Had to pick that one, it's the perfect funeral song)
Sunday Morning- Velvet Underground
Waterloo Sunset- The Kinks
Candle In the Wind- Elton John (I know it was written for Marilyn, but he could re-write it again for me, just like he did for that twit Diana)
Knockin' On Heaven's Door- Bob Dylan (yeah, that's right! I'm goin' for the obvious one!)
Champagne Supernova- Oasis
Perfect Day- Lou Reed (not about death, but it seems to fit the mood somehow)

I'd play songs throughout the whole eulogy service. People would talk and give their nice speeches but at least there would be interesting songs in the backround for people to concentrate on if they space out.
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing-Aerosmith (just has to be in here. Its me and my dad's song. We were planning on playing it at my wedding but my funeral can work too. *Sniffle* Okay now I'm getting all sentimental and almost ready to cry. )
Bohemian Rhasphody-Queen (This would be fun. It would be like a choir song that everyone would have to sing. Its Wanye's World church style. )
Another One Bites the Dust-Queen (The title is fairly appropriate methinks.)
Mama I'm Coming Home-Ozzy Osbourne (because nothing says "Catholic Church Sermon" without a good helping of the Ozzman.)
If I Die Tommorow-Motley Crue (good song. Has a nice meaning about not having any regrets and just learning from life and enjoying it as if you'll die tommorow. Which would be how I had spent the next six months.)
Knockin' on Heaven's Door-Guns N' Roses (great song. Appropriate. Its pretty self explanitory actually)
Highway to Hell-AC/DC (because there's nothing better than scaring your least favorite grandparents one last time. )
Angel-Aerosmith (because there's always room for one more Aerosmith ballad no matter how irrelevant it may be to the event. )
And thats about it. All rock and no breaks. If the ceremony took place longer then the songs would repeat. Simple as that. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

A friend of mine died recently, and at her funeral they played 'When you say nothing at all' (by Ronan Keating, the Notting Hill Song).
I'm sure that sounds like a tacky choice, but it was actually really moving and really brought home to me the importance of funeral music. It'll be the song that makes people think of you for the rest of their lives, and suddenly funny choices don't seem funny any more.
So I'd maybe like Stand by Me (Ben E King) - optimistic and positive without being undignified. And it's about life rather than death. |

i've actually thought about this before... and i couldnt decide <_<
something sad.... i guess...
hmmm..... well i was never one to play practical jokes in life or act happy... but i damn sure will in death, they will remember my funeral for years to come!!!
perhapes the "egg song" would be suitable.... "wiggle jiggle, yeeeellow middle, thats the best of what you are! *i love you eggs*" "wiggle jiggle, yeeellow middle".. and such... yeah that would be great.... wait a minute.... "the song that never ends".... they could NEVER leave!!!
*walks back to reality*
i still cant decide though..... its kind of a semi-important thing... because everytime someone hears the song... they'll think of you..... its so tough to choose...
:/
