you have two options:
1) you can attach your pic to your Post. I wouldn't suggest this one too often

2) When you type your message, in the options you'll see "http://" what you need to do is click that, then type in the URL of the picture you're submitting. Fill out that little thing and voila, you have your hyperlink. I'd check the link after you've posted just to make sure that it isn't broken.

It does depend on the contest. Some people prefer the image attached, others prefer links to the page. Official site contests require links to the page.
