Question

What's the best Photoshop or whatever it's called? You know, when you color things on the computer. And how do you get it? At the store, Mail, Internet? What? Help me please. ^_^;; I've tried to color my drawings with the photoshop but it doesn't look as professional as the other stuff I see on the web. There has ta be a secret!

You can use whatever program you feel comfortable with. None are some magic tool, just as having a tablet won't make you any better than you were with a mouse. Photoshop, PSP, GIMP, OpenCanvas, they're all relatively similar. It's a matter of practice. Photoshop is very popular and probably what most of the online pictures are done with (besides the more painterly ones, which a lot of times are done in Painter). Perhaps find some pictures you really like and ask the person which program they used?

Personally, I rarely use Photoshop anymore: I use Deleter CG Comic Illust, because it's easier/faster for me to use than Photoshop. And I can multiple-undo without having to go through the history.

But if you know Photoshop, you can pretty much pick up a good deal of the other programs without any serious problems. : )

I use Painter classic for my work, I just love the real-media feel of it. It's probably not so good if you want to do cell-style anime-like colouring, especially as there's no layers function. I'd say PS, PSP or OC are the best options to start with until you learn the ins and outs of computer colouring

Now, how can you do THAT?!!! MY GAWD!!! I seriously doubt a normal photoshop can do that!

That's actually rather simple for photoshop. Believe it or not, photoshop is one of the most powerful graphics programs you can get. Here's what I can tell, as far as how that could easily be done.

Lineart looks to just be dark pencil or pen lines. So scan in some lineart and probably up the contrast with image>adjust>brightness/contrast

Set the lineart layer to "multiply" on the layers palette

Create new layers under the lineart to color on

Use a hard edged paintbrush to color the figure. Pick the color you want and fill in the lines. Use the same hard edged brush in various sizes to select the lighter and darker colors (from the color selection, not the eye dropper tool). Painting in the sections is just a matter of using smaller and larger brushes to fill in the right shapes.

That takes care of coloring the figure. Just a matter of practice.

Create a new layer beneath your coloring layer(s)

Using a hard edged brush, paint in the brown tree.

Select the lighter and darker colors, with the soft edged brush (air brush, it's the fuzzy circle on the drop down brush menu) set the opacity somewhat low (it's the sliding bar along the top). Paint in the highlights and shadows on the tree.

Create another layer beneath the tree.

Fill it with the blue sky color. Using the airbrush on white with slightly lowered opacity to paint in the clouds.

Using one of the texture brushes near the bottom of the drop down brush menu, select green, paint in the bushes/trees/whatever. Add the shadows and highlights by painting in the lighter and darker greens with the same brush.

Simple as that. It takes a lot of practice, but that image is very possible and quite simple for photoshop.

I tried the photoshop and it came out pretty good! Thnx! Now my art will DEFINATLY improve DRAMATICLY!!

Open the picture in an image program, find something such as in photoshop it's "image>image size" or select it all so that there's the little squares at the corners. Hold the shift key and drag it in to make it smaller. Save.

Photoshop is apparently really hard to use if you're not experienced with programs like it. I've been really happy with photoshop, its all I use.
You can find tutorials here that will take you through the super-basics of photoshop and on to give you tools to use to make more complex pictures, from flatcoloring to advanced shading, to backgrounds and some filters. There will be more at some point, possibly I'll explain how to use all the layers and filters, and how to do faux finishes (like watercolor, which I'm using right now), though they are brushed over in the basic tutorials.
I use CS2, but the majority of what is on the tutorials applies to everything 5.0 and above, with a few small exceptions. Like I said, they are pretty basic.
This is the way that *I* do things, so it is, of course, not written in stone, and many people use different techniques, but they work for me. If you go to my gallery here (or on deviantart, which you can do by going to that link and clicking on "thestril' above the tutorial) you can see what I do with photoshop.
