That depends. Are you talking about the first one or the one with Drew Carry?

Rolling eyes

Love it. UK or earlier US. Hate Wayne Brady, so when he isn't third chair, that's better. Having seen the touring show live for four or five years straight (which Wayne doesn't participate in), I much prefer the different combinations of Chip, Brad, and Jeff, which was obviously impossible on tv with only one rotating spot. Plus Greg was on UK a lot more often. And Tony Slattery is still my favorite.

I love Ryan. He's so funny, and he reminds me of my uncle. ^_^

Wayne is a showboat with minimal improv talent. He can sing and dance, but that's mostly it as far as being qualified. Chip, Brad, and Jeff can all sing equally well and are more entertaining. Their flexibility of styles is endless, and any combination of two of them works great together. Their comic timing is better, and they focus more on the content than good singing or dancing.

So many people who like Wayne support that with "he's such a good singer/dancer!". Well that's great, but it's comedic improv, not a variety show. When it comes to singing, the other three get the job done just as well and funnier. Hell, Jeff was a member of a touring musical improv group before and during Whose Line. Any character Wayne does, save for a few canned impressions he can do, come off as "Wayne Brady as _____". He's got this attention-whoring personality that comes across in every single performance.

When he's not there, it's a group. All the members play off each other and have something that just isn't there when Wayne is a part of it. For example, and it obviously won't come across as well as actually seeing it, Brad, Chip, and Jeff doing the singing for Greatest Hits (with Ryan and Colin as the salesmen of course) was spectacular. Each of them had an equal chance to shine per song style, and it made the game so much funnier to see each of them with their particular method. Watch the game on television and notice how many times Wayne does 80% of the singing, and Brad/Chip are left to either sing backup or get one short verse in.

And that's what I don't like about him. If I just didn't find him funny, that would be one thing, there's been members I thought were a lot less funny than him (Kathy Greenwood, for example), but he butts in on Brad, Chip, Jeff, etc., and that's a huge problem in group improv.

Greg should have gotten the third chair. That would leave Brad, Chip, Jeff, and Wayne for the majority of the fourth chair, and every show could still be musical. All of them are just as strong as Wayne when it comes to being able to carry a game. Had Jeff been given more of a chance, he could've been one of the strongest fourth chairs on television instead of just the tour.

The television show is not as "random" as it appears. Especially in the song games. But....it's probably not something many want to know about.

For how many amazing female improv performers there are, all the Kathy's were pathetic choices. Caroline and Josie from the original version put the US women to shame.
