Well...Japan is an island and China is part of a continent. Tell ya that for starters. ^^ A relative of mine was born in Japan and her mom told me all these good things about it. My favorite was that anime was all over television. ^_^ (I'd never be able to understand it, though.) I wanna live in Japan whenever I'm through with art college, but I don't know about the language barrier...I'll never learn Japanese (or at least all of it.) _________________ Ah, so you've decided to read my signature. *cries* Is there a difference? Of course there is! The countries are entirely different - they have different customs, food, culture, language.... It's like asking if there's a difference between the US and Canada... Or between any two countries, really.
BTW, aren't you a bit young to be thinking about 'after college'? Are you even in high school yet? |

Oh yeah, that'll help with deciding where to live.
And to the person who started this thread, you're 12. Living in Japan or China is the least of your concerns. Try graduating high school for starters. If you're even still interested in Asia by the time you get into college, do some research. By then you'll have enough knowledge to really look into it past "this one's cooler!!!!lolz".
Standard of living, wages, job market, laws and regulations, average cost of living, those are what's important.
But you're 12 and don't know the difference between China and Japan. Grow up first, then worry about it.
EDIT: and don't learn about a culture from a game. That's like learning about the US from Grand Theft Auto. There's a lot of stuff that's true, but it's ultimately not an accurate depiction of the place. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. It's called being unrealistic!!!!!!1111eleventy1
Seriously, just don't even think about it. You have no idea what your interests will be by the time you finish high school, let alone college, nor what will happen in those countries. The economy and politics could be quite different, and perhaps not the most pleasant or easiest places for an American to live.
Worry about doing decently well in high school, finishing a degree, and then think about specific plans. "I might like to live in Asia" is all you need to know right now. One step at a time.
When I was your age...I don't even remember what I wanted to do, but it definitely wasn't "live in a shithole apartment in astronomical debt in Los Angeles". I think I wanted to live in a loft in NYC and go all Andy Warhol. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
