I doubt this counts, but I saw Jump5 once (you know jump5, the overly cheery kids who sing about angels?) . My aunt paid me twenty bucks to take my cousin, and I don't think she even liked it.
We had to stand for three hours outside some incredibly old concert hall/unofficial homeless shelter to get in. Then when we finally got in, the rest of the audience was a mob of ten year old girls (evil children *hiss*) who wanted nothing more then to beg for some one to buy them a thirty dollar concert tee-shirt. Bah. Now I'm starting to depress myself. I'll shut up now.

mm this thread seems awfully familiar...

um concerts concerts... let's see i've been to a total of 3 real concerts, but i go to local shows a lot. bloomfield ave is fun. as are vfw halls

my first show was in 8th grade- the pop disaster tour with green day, blink-182, and saves the day (when they were still awesome). it rocked. we were in a box, but it was all the way on the side, so we couldn't see everything. still cool, tho.

then, that very same weekend, my friend who went to the pop disaster tour with me got free tickets to *snicker* zootopia, so we figured what the hell and went. um yea pretty much spent the whole time making fun of the bands there, and luckily avoided the more horrible artists by planning our food and bathroom breaks around their acts. bon jovi and alanis morrisette were there, tho. so uh i guess it wasn't a total loss?

then last april i went to the skate and surf festival, with senses fail, brand new, reggie and the full effect, midtown, bouncing souls, alkaline trio, and reel big fish. it was beyond awesome. loud and smoky and tons o' fun! i'm going again this year in only 4 days!! ah i'm so excited! gonna see less than jake, bouncing souls, local h, early november, soco, yellowcard and tons of other people.

o and i'm sorry your concert experience was less than fun, paru. damn evil children! i hope your next show is better! but glad you had fun, pepsi. hehe gotta love those fire explosion thingies (aka pyrotechnics)

I've never been to a concert Sad I'd love to see Three Days Grace! I WAS going to go see The Juliana Theory, but I had to babysit instead. Oh lucky me, I got to hang out with my sisters instead of seeing one of my favorite bands play. Phooey on that :/

My first real one would be Green Day, woooooooww, people love those guys! About 10,000 people I think. It was really good.
Then Reel Big Fish at a local place. A lot smaller but still a great turn out. Theyre good live too.
And last January I saw Dream Theater in London. Dream Theater fans are amazing, they go so crazy for everything...We just love the music!
In fact, there should be a Dream Theater thread...

Yeah, there was a thread like this before, and I was going to dig it up. But this works, too.

Just saw David Bowie last night. And that man...is a God. He puts on a better show and is more talented than most people half his age. AND, being an artist whose work spans decades, realizes people don't want to come see him perform his entire new CD and a couple old favorites. Most of his setlist is the classics, and he rocks the fuck out of 'em. Nothin' like hearin' Bowie through a big stack of amps. Plus, he's one funny motherfucker and is completely natural onstage. Crackin' jokes, telling stories, lots of fun stuff between songs. Didn't slow down at all. You'd never guess he was as old as he is.

Set was right around three hours, probably a little less since switching from the opening band took awhile. But he was awesome for the entire set, right up to the last song (Ziggy Stardust). Singin' along to the man himself instead of just the records, nothin' like it.

I could ramble on and on about how amazing David is, but since anyone who gives a rat's ass already knows, and those who don't care...well are stupid.... Razz If you get a chance, definitely check it out. Even if you end up in crap seats at this point, it'll be worth it. Here's a big piece of the setlist. I know I'm forgetting some. Not in exact order, but pretty close.

Rebel Rebel
New Killer Star
Reality
Fashion
Fame
Cactus
China Girl
A New Career in a New Town
Be My Wife
I'm Afraid of Americans
Quicksand
The Man Who Sold the World
Sunday
Suffragette City
The Lonliest Guy
Friday on my Mind
Under Pressure
Life On Mars?
Looking For Water
Days
Ashes to Ashes
Never Get Old
"Heroes"
Five Years
Always Crashing in the Same Car
Ziggy Stardust

Missing a couple, methinks, but those are the ones I can remember. I've lost most of my voice, my ears are still ringing, I'm tired as hell (barely four hours of sleep), and I'm sore from the waist down....good fuckin' show. If I had a car, I'd be in Seattle right now finding a ticket. Cool

(ah, I suppose I should add....he's still hot as hell and knows it. Very...interesting performance of I'm Afraid of Americans. China Girl, too. Razz)

EDIT: Should also add....bring $$$$. Between the ticket n' merch, I'm pretty well broke. But it's a good broke. Coolest merch I've seen in a long time.

Nah, no problem. Just means some people won't answer. Or will if they're really bored, I guess.

I wouldnt exactly call myself a ska fan, although I do like the music...ehh
RBF are great, and I do like a few Less Than Jake tunes, umm, and generally I could listen to most of the music, but I just wouldnt know half the band names you throw out even if I had heard them.
In Newquay (legendary English surf/teenage party city) there is a bar that has a Punk night every Tuesday. Its really good, the people are all really nice and they go crazy for every song that plays...so good

Only concert I been to was Linkin Park, Hoobastank, P.O.D. and Story of the Year. It was great, I loved it. Smile No bad experiances, yay. During the last song of Linkin Park's set, the lead singer of SOTY ran onstage with this big, inflatable balloon.... male part.... and started attacking LP's lead singer with it. I thought that was pretty funny. Laughing

I want to go to the Van's Warped Tour, it's coming to my city. Can't remember all of the line up, but the bands in it I want to see are Avenged Sevenfold, From Autumn to Ashes, and Yellowcard.

Hey, I went to Nickelback, too... TWICE, because they were in Edmonton twice... first Jan 27 and again Mar 18... the first time... we had the CRAPPIEST seats.... and I tripped up the cement stairs and smashed my knee, so I missed most of Three Days Grace, part of Nickelback, and I had to sit on the stairs because I couldn't bend my knee enough to sit in my seat... and my little brother got sick, so I spent some of the concert in the hall with him.... The second time killed!! We had better seats, and I didn't injure myself... they were there with Default and Thornley that time... and then the drummer and Chad Kroeger had drum solo wars... it was cool... and as far as we know, we beat all other canadian cities for the amount of girls undergarments thrown on stage... In the middle of the concert, we were up to 270, so I figure it was over 300... I didn't contribute, but hey.... I have also seen Barenaked Ladies, dc Talk (a christian rock band), Garth Brooks... and the FIRST concert I ever went to was FRED PENNER!! LOL anyone else know Fred Penner, the kids TV show?? Anyway... yup... I was about 6 or so... Smile anyway... that was long, I'm done

o sorry chux! lol i guess i was a little... overexcited heh heh. but wow that punk nite thing in newquay sounds great. all the local shows around here are turning into emo shows... eh, some emo i like, but most of it is annoying. so sadly i haven't seen many local punk bands (tho there was a great band called sidekick from chicago a few weeks ago). i'll just stick to ska shows. *smile*

and yay i went to skate and surf yesterday. it was rad. we were in the pit for most of the bands we saw (but sat down for mxpx). many people fell on me and many people with very sweaty armpits raised there arms ever higher around me, but it was great! i didn't crowdsurf (too much of that cool free stuff they give you in my pockets) but my friend did. and we skanked a bit when less than jake played BUT they only played 3 of their GOOD songs and the rest were all their crappy new songs. argh. o well bouncing souls and home grown and mxpx were cool. early november was good too but i don't know their stuff too well.

i might go to warped tour, too, sunny. it's playing in hershey park but my friends and i are still debating about how to get there and hotel/money situations...

Ugh, my brother has a billion mxpx mp3s on this computer. Never heard of them, and the few I clicked on sucked royal ass, so I'll be having a bit of an "accidental" deletion problem soon. Filling up my damn computer with that crap... Grr!
